Who is Mrs. Whitlow?
My name is Lori Whitlow and I am a Tech Ed teacher in Roanoke, Virginia. I am passionate about agriculture and technology, especially educational technology and its uses in the classroom. I am an Apple Distinguished Educator, Google Certified Educator (level II) and formerly, a nationally board certified teacher in Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. I am also an ambassador for BookWidgets.
I have my Bachelor's of Science degree from Virginia Tech in Animal Science (focus in science and pre-veterinary medicine) with a minor in English. My Master's degree, also from Virginia Tech, is in Career and Technical Education with a focus on Agriculture Education. Over the years, I have continued to develop an interest in coding, robotics and the uses of drones, which has led to my dual teaching certifications in both Agriculture Education and Technology Education.

The 2024-25 school year marks my 29th year in education and my 5th year at Cave Spring High School, where I teach Woods I and II and Robotics. I am also the TSA sponsor and the coach for the VHSL Robotics team. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, gardening, woodworking, attending horse shows, and spending time with my family.
